  • No new information in Interlaken case: The investigation of the reported choking attack on a woman jogging in Interlaken park has not turned up any new information. SPD said there are no updates in the case in which a woman said she was strangled until she passed out by a man inside park the afternoon of October 9th.
  • Carjack suspects still in LA: The teen suspects arrested by LAPD in a vehicle carjacked at gunpoint on Capitol Hill remain in California, Seattle Police tell CHS.
  • Rough night: A Friday night that started with a man reportedly being served “6-7 shots of Fireball whiskey and a beer” at a bar in the 900 block of 12th Ave ended with him covered in filth with few memories of the night’s events — and nearly $2,000 poorer. According to the SPD report on the incident, the man arrived at East Precinct headquarters at 12th and Pine Saturday night October 11th with details of his rough Friday night. The victim told police his friends told him he had tried to get into a club in the 1400 block of Broadway was left behind when only part of his group was admitted. The victim said he was told he waited around and then walked off. He told police he remembers trying to get into his apartment building after that but that his roommate did not answer the buzzer. The victim said the next thing he remembers is waking up in a hallway of a building in the 1000 block of E Mercer when an employee arrived and told him to wait outside in the entrance until security arrived. As he woke up, the victim discovered he was “all dirty” and that he was missing belongings. The victim said he didn’t wait to talk with security. Later, he also found that his credit cards had been used during the night. The victim told police he has a history of “blacking out when he drinks.” The report lists total losses for the victim at $1,961.
  • Pine phone grab: A woman told police her phone was stolen from her in an early morning melee outside a club in the 1200 block of Pine early Sunday, October 12th. According to the SPD report, the victim said she was jumped by a female assailant and that a man who was with the attacking woman grabbed her phone. She told police she had received a text to meet the assailant in the University District so she could “buy back” the phone for $300 but that the woman did not show up.
  • Airgun assault: A woman walking near 23rd and E Alder told police she believes she was shot in the leg by a group of teens playing with an airgun. According to the report on the Thursday night, October 2nd incident, the woman told police she was walking around 7 PM when she heard a loud bang and felt a pain in her leg. The woman reported the incident to police the next morning but no suspects could be found.
  • E Pike shooting report: The SPD report on last Sunday’s early morning shooting on E Pike has been released with details of a scary scene on the crowded street as an upset and armed former boyfriend struggled with people trying to take away his gun. Two shots were fired — one struck a male member of the group in the arm causing non-life threatening injuries. The full report on the incident is below with SPD redactions of involved names. The suspect in the incident was arrested and held on investigation of domestic violence assault. He has not yet been charged.Screen Shot 2014-10-17 at 11.15.48 AMScreen Shot 2014-10-17 at 11.15.57 AM Screen Shot 2014-10-17 at 11.16.06 AM Screen Shot 2014-10-17 at 11.16.13 AM

As to “Rough night: . . . 6-7 shots of Fireball whiskey and a beer”

Old saying: Whiskey after beer, have no fear;
Beer after whiskey, very risky.

Those were just what he remembered. So is it blaming the victim to point out that someone with a history of alcoholic blackouts might just think twice about slamming down so much? Or if that is beyond your ability, then get some help!

You first have to come to the realization that it’s a problem. This guy’s probably laughed off his blackouts in the past. Maybe this will be the kindle.

How did Lynnwood Assailant know that Lynnwood Victim and her friends would be out walking around 10th & PIke? Were they tweeting their movements or is it a given that everyone from Lynnwood is at Pike/Pine on weekend nights?

If I were a betting man I’d guess that the club in the 900 block of 12th ave that served the victim 6-7 shots is Rheinhaus. This is based on the fact that I was there last weekend and the bartender tried to convince me to buy a shot of tequila to put in my beer. They sure sell a lot of vodka red bulls for being a german themed bar.

The company that sells Red Bull is based in Austria, but the drink is based on a Thai drink called Krating Daeng.
