• Robbery gang busted? SPD says the teens arrested in Los Angeles with a vehicle stolen in a violent Capitol Hill carjacking could be connected to a string of robberies in the neighborhood —
  Detectives believe a group of teenagers arrested in a stolen car last week in California could be responsible for at least a dozen recent robberies on Capitol Hill.
  SPD Robbery detectives say the group of four young men—all between 14 and 17 years old—targeted intoxicated victims on Capitol Hill because they were more likely to have trouble identifying their assailants. Police also recovered cellphones and other electronics in the suspects’ stolen Ford Fusion, and are working to tie the items to any recent robberies. Detectives are now working to extradite three of the suspects to Seattle. The fourth suspect may be facing additional charges for unrelated crimes in California.
• Alley mugging: A victim in an early Sunday robbery told police his assailants were three to four black males who made off with his new iPhone 6. According to East Precinct radio dispatches, police were called to the alley behind Neighbours around 1:35 AM where the victim was treated by medics for injuries suffered in the crime. The suspect descriptions were mostly general but the victim said one of the thieves was dark skinned and around  5′” to 5’9″, wearing light jeans, a white jacket, and light blue sneakers. The suspects were last seen headed south in the alley toward QFC. There were no arrests.
• Hate crime investigation: Police are also investigating an early Saturday morning bias incident at E Pine’s R Place involving a man who reportedly threatened people and pretended to have a gun. More details here.
• Freeway Park stabbing: Saturday night, a man was stabbed at 9th and University near Freeway Park but the victim, police say, was uncooperative with responding officers.
  Officers responded to the Seattle Convention Center at 6:48 p.m. when security guards called to report a man with a stab wound.  When they arrived officers found the 21-year-old victim with a single stab wound to the torso.  The victim was not forthcoming with information when officers tried to question him about the suspect. The victim eventually described the suspect as a 20-year-old black male wearing jeans, black shirt and a black scarf.
  The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries in the incident.
• Bellevue Ave E woman busts car prowl suspect: TV stations have been excited about this story of a Capitol Hill woman who reportedly fought back against a car prowler last month:
  A tenacious Capitol Hill resident flat-out refused to let a car prowler escape, continuing to struggle with him even after being punched multiple times in the face and eventually detaining him for officers, according to the Seattle Police Department.Here is the epic SPD report on the epic battle. We’ll follow up to find out more about the suspect and where the legal system takes him. The resulting struggle turned the case into a robbery investigation. Police say they also found a baggie of meth stuffed up the suspect’s anus.
• “Capitol Hell” car prowl: Not everybody on the Hill is quite as law and order focused as the previous victim. For a different flavor of Capitol Hill car prowl, here’s a report posted to Facebook and sent to CHS about a recent break-in incident:
• SPD needs your help: Know these people? SPD says the man and woman were spotted using a stolen debit card in a Capitol Hill gas station following an August 30th assault incident in Belltown.
• Taxi cab ruse: Police are looking for a group reportedly using a taxi cab ruse to rob victims around Pike/Pine:

  While stopping by the East Precinct to claim her found purse, a woman recounted to officers how she and a friend had been accosted by a group of men while trying to get home from a bar early Sunday morning.

  The woman and her friend were sitting on a curb waiting for a cab in the 1000 block of E. Pike Street after a night of bar-hopping when three men approached them.

  One of the men said his brother worked for a taxi company, and offered to get the two women a ride home. The woman told police a grey Honda Civic pulled up in front of them, and the three suspects forced them inside. The woman said the three suspects “boxed” her and her friend in the back seat of the car, sitting on either side of the victims. The women began shouting at the men, catching the attention of several witnesses on the street, who also began yelling at the suspects.

  As the suspects and witnesses exchanged words, the women were able to climb out of the car. The suspects and the group of witnesses continued to shout at one another, drawing the attention of police working in the area. The suspects quickly fled, and when officers contacted the woman about the incident she declined to file a report.

  However, when she arrived home she realized her purse was missing.

  As it turned out, officers had recovered the woman’s purse and contacted one of her family members to let them know they were holding it at the East Precinct.

  When the woman came to the precinct to retrieve her purse, she found that her cash, ring, and passport were all missing. She then reported the entire incident to officers, noting that she believed the suspects had stolen her purse, as well as a bracelet she’d been wearing the night before.

  Detectives are now investigating the incident.
