  • 19th/Mercer burglary: Thieves made off with nearly $2,000 in stolen goods in a burglary of an apartment inside the 19th and Mercer building last Thursday. The SPD report on the daytime break-in is below.   • 22/Cherry gun incident reported: A car service driver told police a teen he chased after the young male reportedly busted out his car window eventually opened fire on the driver with a pistol to end the pursuit near 22nd and Cherry last Friday night. According to the SPD report on the 11:30 PM incident, a group who witnessed the damage to the car joined in the chase but the driver said he stopped following the male after he pulled a gun:Screen Shot 2014-10-23 at 2.26.51 PMThe incident was first reported to police as a fare dispute and initial reports that the suspect was brandishing a shotgun were eventually dismissed. The suspect, described as a black male in his teens, wearing blue jeans and a blue or black hoodie, was not found.
  • 23rd Ave robbery: Police are investigating a possible armed robbery in the 1800 block of 23rd Ave Wednesday afternoon around 1:30 PM. According to SPD, the victim told police the suspect approached him inside a parking garage and demanded his money saying he would kill the victim if he did not comply. The victim told police he believed the suspect may have had a gun so he handed over his cash. The suspect then fled. The report on the incident does not include a full description of the suspect. Police were checking surveillance cameras in the area to try to gather more information on the crime.
  • Boylston beating: Police were called to the 1100 block of Boylston Ave Saturday around 1 AM after an assault victim was found bleeding so profusely that it was difficult to identify where he was wounded.

  • No treat: A man wearing his Halloween costume on the way to work told police he was robbed of his bag by a group inside the Convention Center Sunday morning. According to the report, the man said he was buying an Orca card around 9 AM while wearing the unidentified costume when a group of males shouted “Hey ghoulie,” at him before pushing him against the wall and stealing his bag:Screen Shot 2014-10-23 at 2.15.53 PM
  • Capitol Hill resident missing: The search continues for Capitol Hill resident and Krishna Venkatesh. The 27-year-old was last seen at work at Microsoft on October 15th. His car was found earlier this week near Deception Pass but the search for Venkatesh continues.10670255_10152745357901351_1566397164014490449_n

Re 19th/Mercer burglary:

I’m confused. Isn’t this the new, hip, and hyper-costly apt building at 19th Ave E and Mercer? Do the doors lack locks? An inside job? What is up with this? Rather disturbing.

More likely some typical passive Seattle neighbor who just lets people follow them in the front door without making sure that they live in the building!
