SPD uncovers large stash of guns, drugs in Capitol Hill storage facility

Police uncovered a major stockpile of drugs and guns after the drama-filled apprehension of a wanted felon outside a Capitol Hill storage facility last week.

According to SPD, detectives seized two assault rifles, ammunition, stolen credit cards and checkbooks, a dozen stolen laptops, 30 stolen smartphones, passports, expensive handbags, $5,600 cash, power tools, a bicycle, more than 20 fake ID cards, and a motorcycle from inside the man’s 13th Ave storage units.

Police say they also found a massive stash of drugs:

272 grams of meth, 145 grams of cocaine, 68 grams of heroine, 508 grams of marijuana, 38 grams of LSD, 9 packages of fentanyl, 10 packages of suboxone, 148 morphine pills, drug packaging materials, various other pharmaceuticals and 435 grams of an unidentified white substance.

SPD took the 36-year-old suspect into custody last Friday afternoon after police say he rammed his Mercedes into a patrol car in an attempt to escape arrest:

Three officers approached the car, which was idling, to talk to the suspect. When an officer opened the driver’s door, the suspect quickly backed his car out of the parking spot and then put it in drive and sped toward the officers, who had to jump out of the way. The man careened toward the parking lot exit and crashed into a patrol car, disabling it.

According to a witness and police radio dispatches, officers had their guns drawn and ordered the man to surrender. “A large, aggressive dog inside the car also had to be secured.

The dog was taken by Seattle Animal Control. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for multiple felony warrants. We’re getting more information about charges he will face and will update when we learn more.

The comments are pretty critical of the police here, but I think we have to hand it to them this time. Solid takedowns of well-known local thieves. Now if they could just be anywhere nearby the next time a gang of kids mugs someone off pike/pine…

Hopefully, after he is surely convicted, he will spend many years in prison.

Good arrest. He was arrested in King County though. So he has some serious counseling and a heartfelt letter to write. At the end of that rigorous sentence society as a whole should apologize to him for placing him in such a position that he felt a drug addiction was his only option. On second thought…let’s apologize to him now, we can skip the conviction part. Give him back the stolen property!!!! Free checking!!!! Bring back the McRib!!!! Free internet for the homeless!!! #social justice

honestly, SPD gets tons of shit but the fact that there’s busts like this and still tons of people out there that rob and steal and mug people is astonishing and scary.
