Soon — when the big red wall is gone — they’ll need a new place to hang stars at Broadway and John. For now, the constellation on the Sound Transit construction wall has grown as the Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce has honored five more area non-profits with local artist-created tributes to recognize their work.
The 2014 Stars on Broadway honoree and artist roster is below. You can see 2013’s stars and honorees here.
2014 Nonprofit Stars on Broadway and Artists
- Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Promulgating universal joy and expiation of stigmatic guilt, artist: Clyde Peterson
- Artist Trust Supporting WA State artists creating in all disciplines, artist: Evan Blackwell
- Jubilee Women’s Center Rebuilding lives, one extraordinary woman at a time, artist: Keely Dolan
- Hugo House A place for writers – to read words, hear words, & make your own words better, artist: Vis-a-Vis Society
- Seattle Area Support Groups Promoting well-being through peer support, artist: Ken Turner
Wouldn’t it be nice if these stars were somehow displayed in the new station, or in the development above? They are a reflection of some of the great work done by nonprofits on Capitol Hill, and should be honored with a permanent place.
Agreed!
seconded! a place to seasonally display them as celebration – ongoing support for making more? they could be mounted around the new plaza every holiday season.
