On the List | Sun and Stone in Volunteer Park, Honk Fest 23rd/Union, Dear Dad

It’s a relatively quiet weekend for 2015 Pride events on Capitol Hill — though there are plenty of parties and you can get your 2015 Pride Shabbat on Friday night at Temple de Hirsch Sinai — but you’ll still find plenty to do, rides to ride, and honks to honk with around the neighborhood. Plus, don’t forget to call your daddy.

  • Honk Fest West will do its thing with street bands across the city — plus a visit Sunday to 23rd and Union outside Smash Putt mini-golf.
  • DEAR DAD – letters to and from famous fathers brings Letters Aloud to 12th Ave Arts this weekend for a special Fathers Day edition of the reading series.
  • She Bikes – a “Garden Party Ride” — starts Friday at 6 PM in Volunteer Park.
  • The Seattle Men In Leather hold their Annual Chili Feed Fundraiser Sunday at the Cuff.
  • A Midsummer Night’s Fantasy — “Original music brings Shakespeare’s beloved characters to life in completely unexpected ways while aerialists, gymnasts, musicians and singers” — plays at the Broadway Performance Hall.
  • The Northwest Stone Sculptors Association shares An Afternoon of Sun and Stone in Volunteer Park Saturday afternoon with “over 50 carvings on view with the artists on site to discuss their art, techniques, and of course the stones.”
  • 12th Ave’s Photographic Center Northwest leads the way for the 2015 Long Shot weekend:
Photographic Center Northwest (PCNW) and the City of Seattle are proud to announce Mayor Edward B. Murray has proclaimed June 19, 2015 a citywide Day of Photography. PCNW and other local businesses and nonprofits have partnered to bring a myriad of photography-related events together on June 19, and over the summer solstice weekend. These events include Long Shot hosted by PCNW; PhotoFest, hosted by Glazer’s Camera; Arts Night at Safeco Field, hosted by ArtsFund; and Night of Disguise hosted by Seattle Art Museum.
