An event seeking to demonstrate “that women have the same constitutional right that men have to go bare-chested in public” is planned for Cal Anderson Sunday as part of a national Go Topless Day:
We are a U.S.-based organization founded in 2007 by spiritual leader Rael and we claim that women have the same constitutional right that men have to go bare-chested in public.
“As long as men are allowed to be topless in public, women should have the same constitutional right. Or else, men should have to wear something to hide their chests” Rael, founder of GoTopless.org and spiritual leader of the Raelian Movement (rael.org)
FREE YOUR BREASTS! FREE YOUR MIND!
The Seattle event is planned to run from noon to 3 PM near the fountain in Cal Anderson Park. Skies are predicted to be mostly sunny with highs in the 80s so make sure to put on the sunscreen if not your top.
The Seattle Municipal Code doesn’t mention the word “nudity” or variants and nothing apparently in the code prohibits it but watch out if Washington State Patrol troopers or the feds show up.

If that’s not your speed, how about The Second Ever 22nd Ave Play Street Great Zucchini Races!
The fountain near the children’s playground?
Why not? Kids tend to have a healthier attitude about bodies than adults do.
Ever talk with any college students who recounted how utterly grossed out they were as children at seeing adults naked?
Rael? Seriously?

Boobs and spaceships! I knew there would be a religion out there for me!
Maybe this is just meant to be fun but I’d rather see a rally for Planned Parenthood, equal pay for equal work or any other serious cause we are still fighting for in 2015. But whatever, have fun, wear sunscreen.
They’re all chipping away at the same problem; it’s all connected. A lot needs to change, and it’s not just the big-headline stuff.
There’s a little town in Iowa that’s had a bare chested ladies float in their Fourth of July Parade for at least forty years. A friend of mine’s mother always used to be in it. It’s just a fun thing each year.
Yawn. Grow up. Capitol Hill is a laughing stock.
Harvey,
You’re old.
Boobs!
By my calculations, you hate crosswalks, gender neutral bathrooms, and now boobs. Drink your juice.
In case you hadn’t noticed Harvey, breasts are a pretty sure sign a female HAS grown up.
I’m all for nipples mind you, but can’t find where word “topless” appears in the Constitution.
It’s called the 14th Amendment. If men can walk around topless than constitutionally so can women. There isn’t any logical reason or any compelling public interest in banning nudity anyway. Much less toplessness.
Where in the U.S. constitution does it say a man can walk around topless,it does’nt
