CHS Community Post | Chop Shop Now Open for Breakfast & Lunch

SEATTLE, August 18, 2015 — Chef Ericka Burke and the Chop Shop crew are thrilled to be adding breakfast and lunch to the restaurant’s daily lineup. As of today, Chop Shop Cafe & Bar will be open Monday through Friday at 8am, and Saturdayand Sunday at 9am.

On weekdays, breakfast will include a European-style breakfast buffet complete with housemade preserves and toast, granola and yogurt, fruit, a juice du jour, and Stumptown coffee. The $12 buffet is available until 11am—afterwards, lunch items will be available in addition to the standard breakfast menu until 3pm.

The breakfast menu includes savory dishes like a breakfast sandwich with a fried egg, bacon, heirloom tomato, herb aioli, and Gruyere or the Chop Shop Breakfast, a hearty plate comprised of a bone-in ham steak, herb-roasted potatoes, and two eggs any style. On the sweet side, there’s Mascarpone-Stuffed French Toast with peaches, almonds, and maple syrup or Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with blackberries.

On weekends, the breakfast menu will be on offer from 9am until 3pm—no buffet on the weekends. The lunch menu will become available in addition to the breakfast menu everyday at 11am.

The lunch menu offers four salads, including the Chop Salad, a bountiful bowl of kale, pulled chicken, bacon, salami, cherry tomatoes, white beans, avocado, Gruyere, and a soft-boiled egg, dressed with green goddess. There are also five sandwiches—all served with housemade pickled vegetables. Sandwiches range from Braised Pork with cabbage slaw, cilantro, and fresno aioli on a toasted sesame bun to the Open-Faced Egg Salad Baguette, with smashed egg, tarragon aioli, radish, pickled red onion, and cornichon. There are a handful of larger plates too, like a steak with marrow toast or a mélange of summer veggies in broth with pasta and greens.

Also, a new “Best Hour” will be on every day from 3pm until 5:30pm, when dinner begins. The menu includes a selection of $8 sandwiches and salads, as well as three $6 cocktails, like the Garden Party with bourbon, mint, garden herbs, and powdered sugar.

Burke is delighted to have Chop Shop open all day for the neighborhood. She and the team are all looking forward to seeing new faces in the dining room all day long. The juice bar is open as well, serving espresso and grab-an-go food from 8am to 3pmevery day. Leisurely breakfast, quick lunch, after-work cocktail, or convivial dinner—Chop Shop has got it all.

Opened in July of 2015, Chop Shop Cafe & Bar is the anchor tenant of Chophouse Row, a mixed-use building situated in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood at 1424 11th Avenue. The restaurant comes from local chef Ericka Burke, owner of the beloved Volunteer Park Cafe and Canal Market. Chop Shop caters to neighborhood locals and visitors alike with a seasonal dinner menu full of bright flavors and a European-style breakfast bar and a lunch menu comprised of salads and sandwiches. Chop Shop Juice & Provisions is the casual sibling spot to Chop Shop Cafe & Bar, located at 1424 11th Avenue in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.
