Capitol Hill Pets | Boo, the oldest cat in Hilltop

IMG_7914Boo is a cat. Julien likes to think she was born on Halloween. Boo is around 23 years old, which might be the record for oldest cat on Capitol Hill. Boo has a touch of hyperthyroidism. Julien rescued Boo in 2004 from the Humane Society as she was the only cat moving around in her cage. Boo was 12 in 2004. She’s still energetic, jumping up on her bed and the furniture, but if she doesn’t like her food, or is out of food, she will stare at Julien until something’s done about the situation, for hours in some cases. She’s not a fan of leashes, so you probably won’t see her out and about around 15th Ave.

Want more Capitol Hill pets? We recommend #dogsofebbco.

We ask photographer Alex Garland to follow marchers in the rain and do crazy things like trying to make yet another picture of yet another huge apartment building look interesting. We thought we’d ask him to do something a little more fun. Capitol Hill Pets is a semi-regular look at our furry, fuzzy, feathered, and finned friends found out and about on Capitol Hill.

Thank You Boo for bringing #dogsofebbco to my attention.

I do hope that as I walk the streets of Capitol Hill, you are able to glare at me from a window with true, classic feline disdain.

She is looking forward to the encounter! If she glares at you, it just means she can’t see :)

My wife brought our dog home against my wishes. She was less than 5 months old,not housebroken. She’s 4 or 5yrs. old now.Has the body size of a large cat,But if someone steps on my porch, she goes into attack mode.Salemen run without seeing her.
