Capitol Hill Community Post | Head to Central Cinema for a Pot Positive Happy Hour tonight

BOV_FebA new kind of event is launching in the Central District tonight. Buds of Vashon, a marijuana producer from Vashon Island is sponsoring a a pot positive Happy Hour

and launch party, 5:30-6:30pm.

Mix and mingle with friends of the industry and enjoy a short documentary featuring the start of Buds of Vashon in this ground-breaking industry. Michelle Dunn Marsh

of Minor Matters Books has selected work by five Seattle pot-positive artists to be featured on the big screen as well.
One of the founders of Buds of Vashon, Steve Van Dyke, has lived on Capitol Hill and in the Central District for the last 20 years. He’s been connected to Vashon

since the early nineties when he met his Buds of Vashon business partners. “I’ve really wanted to work in a business that ties my two communities together”, Steve

said. “Join us to celebrate our entry into the business by enjoying an art and community-filled happy hour. Arrive comfortably imbibed, legally!”
The company was started by Steve, Scott Durkee and Lorin Reinelt a year ago, leasing space on an organic farm. They wanted to bring

the reknown Vashon island bud into the industry by using sustainable, pesticide-free practices. The owners of the farm, Joe and Selena, are now partners in the

business, and the whole team is looking forward to establishing the Buds of Vashon brand

We just thought this was a little edgey and kind of fun, Michelle says, laughing.

The happy hour is open to the public, 21 and over. No marijuana consumption allowed on site.
