Woman jumps from window in First Hill home invasion robbery

A woman reportedly jumped from a second floor window and fell 20 feet in an early morning home invasion robbery attempt at an apartment building near Alder and Broadway.

Seattle Police and Seattle Fire responded to the chaotic scene on First Hill early Wednesday morning just after 3 AM. The woman reported to be in her 40s and suffering from a leg fracture and possible broken nose according to Seattle Fire radio, was rushed to Harborview only blocks from the scene after police said she fell from a second story window when a group of four males armed with handguns and a knife entered the apartment building and attempted to rob a family member by busting into her unit inside the Alder St. apartment building:

Just after 3:00 am, four armed men forced their way inside the residence.  During the robbery, a woman inside the residence jumped out of a window to escape.  She sustained injuries when she jumped out of the window and was taken to Harborview for treatment. There were no other injuries. The four suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction.  Officers responded and set up containment but did not locate the suspects.   Robbery detectives responded to the scene and have begun their investigation. This remains an active and on-going investigation.

Police were investigating the robbery after unsuccessfully searching the area for the group of four young males seen fleeing the area. A K9 dog unit searched for the suspects described only as four black males, wearing all black, and last seen running toward Harborview but lost the track near the busy hospital. Security video from nearby buildings was being reviewed for evidence.

I sure hope that the SPD finds these four thugs. The woman might very well have sustained fatal injuries. Hope she’s recovering well!
