CHS Pics | Clinton takes on Trump in Hecklevision at Central Cinema

Accusations and insults — many clever! — were flying on the screen Monday night as Central Cinema hosted a debate night watch party… and then the candidates started talking.

The 21st and Union theater showed Monday’s first debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump in Hecklevision which broadcasts the audience’s text messages to the screen for all to see. The result is a little like a more irritating and occasionally more hilarious Twitter. It is also pretty chaotic. In other words, the perfect accompaniment along with a beer and some Central Cinema pizza for a political battle that has us all wanting to shout, “Really?”

Despite the negative tone forced on the battle by a candidate seemingly willing to surrender all dignity for victory, crowds at debate parties at venues around the Hill were strong. The free Central Cinema party was also at capacity. Meanwhile, there are more debates to come. Hopefully things like Hecklevision can help everybody keep their political stamina enthusiasm up until November.
