Capitol Hill Community Post | Meeting to determine fate of Roy St & Federal right of way

Please help.
SDOT, The PTA at Lowell School, and apparently some well-connected people are on a well-funded mission to close the public right-of-way green space here that is beloved by our neighborhood.

There is a meeting at 4pm TODAY – the first of two – to determine its fate. The meeting seems to have received very little publicity and is timed so few in the neighborhood can attend. Many of my concerned neighbors have not received notice of the meeting.

Could you please promote this event ASAP so that the voices of people that care about the welfare and precious green spaces on the hill can be heard? You can also email [email protected] with comments.

Thanks!
Mike

Attached is the information on the meeting a picture of of my little rescue dog, devastated that her daily walks through a precious people and puppy friendly tree lined, careless, walkway has been hastily gated up and locked away from the public.

The city encourages a car-less lifestyle. Destroying walkablity of the neighborhood forces people back into their cars.

This request for people to attend a meeting was woefully mis-timed. If they really wanted to get people to a meeting having that request for people to attend would perhaps get a lot better attended if it was not sent out the same day as the meeting. Many people do not spend the entire day in front of their computers or on their phones reading the Facebook timeline.
