Seattle Police say a man taken into custody Monday afternoon wanted on a felony warrant is being investigated in connection with a string of sexual assaults on the streets around the Seattle University campus.

A department spokesperson confirmed the Monday afternoon arrest on the 12th Ave at Madison campus but said the man is currently being held on a warrant unrelated to the string of reported gropings.

Monday morning, CHS reported on two reports of a male suspect riding a bicycle who had groped female students near Seattle U in recent weeks. By noon, the school sent out a bulletin saying Seattle University security had taken reports on five incidents involving a similar description and similar assaults. The bulletin included a security image of the man believed to be connected to the attacks: unnamed-100

The male subject rides a bicycle, approaches the person from behind and touches or slaps their buttocks as he quickly rides by them and away from the area. The incidents have occurred between 4 p.m. and 3:30 a.m. The subject has been seen with multiple bicycles/mopeds as well as bolt cutters. He has been seen frequenting the 14th Avenue corridor between Columbia and Jefferson Streets, as well as the 12th Avenue and 11th Avenue, Broadway and East Cherry corridors.

Monday’s arrest around 2:30 PM was completed without incident as a group of Seattle Police and school security handcuffed the man and loaded him into a waiting SPD cruiser.

CHS is aware of at least one other attack this weekend involving a similar assault by a man on a bicycle in the Pike/Pine area. If you have information or need to report an assault, call 911.

UPDATE: Seattle U Public Safety had this to say about the arrest:

We do have a high level of confidence that the person involved in these incidents has been identified and is now in custody on unrelated charges. We appreciate the community members who came forward and reported these incidents or shared tip information with us.

But Donald Trump says this is acceptable behavior! Maybe this jerk was just trying to make America great again. We should let him live in a tent under I-5.

Good catch, no one likes a pervert. If the school sent out a system wide notice and a photo then the majority of about 8000 people affiliated with SU were aware of him and would notice if they saw him. Repeated conduct is never a good sign.
