  • E Pine robbery: A man who walked into the East Precinct at 12th and Pine overnight with a bloodied face told police he had been pistol whipped and robbed in the Rancho Bravo parking early Saturday morning. According to police radio reports, the victim was robbed by a group of around eight who fled the area in a blue Buick Regal and a white Crown Victoria-style car after assaulting the victim and stealing his wallet and phone. Police did not immediately find either of the suspect vehicles. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. Earlier, police were also investigating a reported mugging in Cal Anderson around 7:30 PM Friday.
  • CD manhunt: A large police search spread across the Central District Friday afternoon as officers tried to track down the man wanted by police for the November 9th downtown shooting incident that injured five people and added chaos and confusion to a day busy with anti-Trump protests. Police were called Friday around 3:20 PM to reports of shots fired in a domestic violence incident near 31st and E Olive St.

There were no injuries and damage was limited to a car with its windows smashed out but police learned the suspect involved was Alrick Hollingsworth, 18, wanted in connection with the November 9th shootings and charged with five counts of assault in the attack. A search for Hollingsworth then spread across the area as police checked out leads, the suspect’s apartment near 23rd and Jackson, and looked for vehicles the suspect may have had access to. There were no arrests and no injuries reported. As of Saturday morning, police are continuing to search for the 18-year-old.

  • Broadway brandy van bust: A man spotted drinking brandy inside a minivan parked along Broadway was busted for being a felon in possession of a handgun, SPD reports:
Police responded to a report of people drinking inside a vehicle in the 100 block of Broadway E. at 1:20 am Wednesday. Officers arrived and spotted a man sitting in the back of a minivan with an open bottle of brandy on the floor.  Officers figured out a 29-year-old man and convicted felon in the vehicle had been driving the van before pulling over for a drink, despite having a suspended license and a court-ordered requirement to only drive vehicles with ignition interlock devices. The van had no such device.
According to police, after arresting the 29-year-old, officers noticed a box underneath his seat containing a gun. Officers booked the man into King County Jail for firearms violations, driving with a suspended license, and driving a vehicle without an interlock device.

Seattle Times article (http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/crime/suspect-identified-in-shooting-that-injured-5-in-downtown-seattle/) says Friday afternoon shooting occurred at “East Olive Street and 12th Avenue E.” I’m assuming the CHS report is the accurate one?

Yes, his participation in the Seattle’s programs to prevent youth violence seems to have led to his being recognized on quite a few different occasions. I think he may have written a book too–I think. Sometimes people become to eager to find youth that they can hold up as a great example, forgetting that they are still struggling to mature. There is no great outcome here, but I hope that the victims recover and that any further violence can be avoided to bring him in.
