No arrests as man shot to death in Central District identified

A fundraiser is underway to help cover Shears’ funeral expenses

Tuesday night’s 24th and Spruce fatal shooting victim has been identified as Carl Shears.

The 45-year-old was gunned down late on the night of Tuesday, November 21st in the neighborhood just south of Garfield High School. Police haven’t made much information about the slaying public and there has been no information about possible suspects.

Detectives continue to investigate the shooting.

Shears has resided in Seattle in the past but CHS does not know if he was currently living in the area where he was killed. His vehicle was found near the murder scene, according to police radio reports the night of the shooting.

His family is currently raising funds for his funeral expenses:
