Capitol Hill Pets | Ash and Cashew on 12th Ave

Ash and Cashew were walking down 12th Ave near Olive when CHS caught up with them last week. Six-month-old Cashew had just come back from the vets office where he was recently relieved of his family jewels. Cashew is a Cavapoo, a Cavalier King Charles and Poodle mix. According to Ash, Cashew is a bit of an attention hound and when meeting strangers, “puts his front paws down and shakes his ass in the air to solicit pets.”

We ask photographer Alex Garland to follow marchers in the rain and do crazy things like trying to make yet another picture of yet another huge apartment building look interesting. We thought we’d ask him to do something a little more fun. Capitol Hill Pets is a semi-regular look at our furry, fuzzy, feathered, and finned friends found out and about on Capitol Hill.
