After being pushed out to turn her retail space into a new apartment unit in the building her shop had called home for seven years,  Laurie Kearney put on a brave face when she announced last fall that her Ghost Gallery would have one last holiday season where Denny meets Summit and E Olive Way. “I’m not ready to give up yet, while being completely aware of the challenges ahead,” she told CHS at the time.

Her confidence was well-placed. Kearney said she can now announce she will reopen her gallery and boutique in a new Capitol Hill home.

“We’ve been given the GO to say that Ghost Gallery is reopening this spring over at Chophouse Row, in a space that’s currently being built out. Aiming for a May opening, and will update if that changes,” she writes.

The new Ghost Gallery will snuggle up against Cupcake Royale and connect through to the retail warren of the Chophouse Row development Pike and Union. In addition to snuggling with Cupcake Royale, Ghost will join Chophouse and Baker Linen Supply Co. building retailers like Retrofit Home and Honed, a custom jewelry shop and studio from creator Claire Kinder Barrett.

During the construction, Kearney said she is staying busy curating shows including the works of Kelda Martensen at 12th Ave Arts through March, Travis Ritter at Saint John’s in March/April, and a small works gallery at Stylus Salon in Belltown. With a little free time, she’s even offering local delivery for online jewelry and art purchases on the Hill and downtown.
