After a few years of larger scale events in the city’s parks, Seattle is downsizing its Easter egg hunt efforts once again in 2018. Again there won’t be an egg hunt in Cal Anderson — and the Central District’s parks and community centers also won’t see the free egg hunts again this year.
Family with young egg hunters will have to plan a visit to nearby community centers or organize hunts of their own with family, friends, and neighbors. Here are two community center hunts to add to the list:

In 2012, Seattle Parks ramped up larger scale events in parks and outside community centers including a combined neighborhood hunt at Cal Anderson Park which drew huge crowds of kids. But starting again in 2017, Seattle Parks moved back to focusing more on its smaller community center hunts.
Around Capitol Hill, neighborhoods often band together for spring egg hunts. If you haven’t heard about one in your neck of the woods, all you need are some plastic eggs and a little imagination to be your own neighborhood Easter Bunny.
Seattle Parks is pulling back on the neighborhood egg hunt in Cal Anderson Park because the riff raff that have been allowed to live, dump their garbage and buy and sell heroin and meth day after day have made it unsafe and unsanitary for children. What a disgrace. The entire council should be thrown out.
