Police search for suspect after reported Broadway bank hold-up

Seattle Police were searching for the suspect in a Saturday morning bank robbery after a man reportedly tried to hold up the Broadway Umpqua branch with a box cutter.

Police were called to the area around the 500 block of Broadway E just after 11:30 AM to a report the suspect had threatened a teller and fled the bank. It was not clear if he had made off with any money.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, around 6-foot tall with a thin build, wearing a black jacket with the hood up. He also reportedly was wearing glasses and had “afro” style hair.

Police searched the area and a K9 unit was deployed in the area around Broadway Hill Park at Federal and Republican. The search was still underway as of noon.

There were no reported injuries.

You know your life is pretty much over when you’re robbing banks with a BOX CUTTER. I’m sure that punk enjoyed flashing the cash to his Facebook friends. And spending it on stupid stuff.
