Police: Two injured in 22nd/Pine shooting — UPDATE

A victim was reported shot and police were searching the area for a suspect seen leaving the area in a vehicle just after 5 PM near 22nd and Pine.

Police confirmed that a female victim had been shot in the arm and was being transported by Seattle Fire for treatment of the non life-threatening injury. The victim was in a vehicle at the location at the time of the shooting, according to East Precinct radio dispatches.

SPD was searching for a suspect described as a black male in his 30s, wearing a white shirt, and with a crew cut style haircut who was reported leaving the area possibly driving a black Escalade or a black Cadillac sedan.

UPDATE 10:20 PM: SPD says two people were injured in the shooting:

Gang Unit detectives are investigating following a shooting that occurred late Wednesday afternoon that left two females with non life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene in a black car.

Shortly after 5:00 pm, officers responded to 22nd Avenue and East Pine Street for reports of shots fired. The female victims told officers that they were driving in the 2100 block of East Pine when they pulled over to let another car that was travelling in the opposite direction pass. As the vehicle passed, the suspect driver fired several shots at the victim’s car, striking the two victims. The victim’s vehicle then struck an unoccupied parked car, as the suspect drove off westbound and left the area.

The victims were transported to the hospital where they were treated for their injuries. This remains an active and on-going investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Seattle Police Department.

UPDATE 8/16/2018 9:45 AM: Police responded to another, unrelated shooting incident around 10:30 PM Wednesday. Officers were called to MLK to a report of shooting and a car crash. Arriving officers found the crash scene and shell casings near MLK and Fir but no victims and no damage. There were no arrests.
