Capitol Hill, your cheese tea is ready — Atulea now open on 12th Ave

(Images: Atulea)

Green — or black — tea is topped with a slightly salty froth made of a mixture of cream cheese, milk, and whipped cream. That’s a cheese tea. You’ll now find it along with milk teas and matcha at 12th Ave’s Atulea.

The new Board & Vellum-designed project from wife and husband team Kathy Wang and Vince Shi debuted over the weekend in new construction along 12th. CHS talked with the owners about their plans and their decision to create their own shop instead of joining a franchise earlier this year. “We want to provide real stuff—real purees, real teas,” Vince Shi told CHS.

After a slightly longer than hoped for permitting and construction process and a re-take on the project’s name, the small, bright cafe is now open at 1715 12th Ave daily from noon to 6 PM.

You can check out the offerings and learn more at atulea.com.

It’s good, stop in and try it…they don’t use the fake powdered crap that so many other milk tea places all over town use…
