911 | Volunteer Park search after reported armed robbery at 12th and Roy

  • Volunteer Park search: Police and a K9 unit searched the streets and Volunteer Park Friday night after a reported knifepoint street robbery at 12th and Roy. According to East Precinct radio updates, the victim reported being held up around 9:30 PM by two young males, one armed with an eight to nine inch knife. Police were searching for two suspects reported as Asian males in their late teens or early 20s, one wearing a hooded sweatshirt, blue bandana, and cutoff shorts on the chilly night. Police fanned out across the area and the nearby park but there were no immediate arrests. No serious injuries were reported.
  • Summit/Pine self-inflicted stabbing: Seattle Fire and Seattle Police rushed to the scene of a reported suicide attempt on the street at Summit and Pine. A 911 caller reported the incident just after 12:30 AM Saturday as the victim was reportedly stabbed multiple times in the abdomen and was struggling against attempts to help. Seattle Police arrived and Seattle Fire was called in to treat and transport the person who was taken with life threatening injuries to the hospital. For resources to help those in need: National suicide-prevention hotline: 800-SUICIDE.
