CHS Pics | Marketing is queen on Broadway with Glossier pop-up and a Game of Thrones visit at Ada’s

In the game of phones, you win — or you keep trying.

While Glossier’s New York headquarters hasn’t returned CHS’s calls — “Nobody in the company has a phone extension,” we were informed Tuesday — the company has confirmed our report from April. It is, indeed, opening one of its hotly hyped pop-ups right here on Capitol Hill — soon — in the Broadway retail space formerly home to American Apparel.

CHS broke the news in April that the Emily Weiss “$1 billion” make-up start-up had begun work to transform the space right across from the Capitol Hill Station entrance and next to lucky neighbors Yoyo Station tea shop and, Weiss will be happy to know, the new Broadway Blade and Timber axe throwing “studio.”

Tuesday, CHS found work inside the coming Glossier shop fully underway with undulating mounds of artificial turf winding around the space and a terrarium front window full of live plants being cultivated at the entrance.

Meanwhile, another sign of “new” Broadway was getting ready for a special day. Costumes from the obsessed-over Game of Thrones HBO series were on display Tuesday as Ada’s Discovery Cafe and The Lounge by AT&T prepared to host a “panel discussion” with visual effects artists from the hit show. In the meantime, the Mountain’s Kings Guard armor kept watch over the cafe mixed with consumer marketing experiment venue and outfits from Jon Snow and Sansa Stark.
