CHS Pics | 12th Ave — Capitol Hill home field for Women’s World Cup

If Team USA is on the field in France during the Women’s World Cup, you’ll want to be on 12th Ave.

Tuesday for the first game of the French-hosted 2019 tournament for the Americans, CHS stopped by our neighborhood German beer bar, naturally, to catch the game and the crowd.

Rhein Haus is hosting Reign FC viewing parties for every Team USA game throughout the cup. Fans got a doozy Tuesday as Alex Morgan scored five times in a 13-0 drubbing of Thailand to start the tourney. “I think it’s disrespectful if we don’t show up and give our best and play our game for 90 minutes,” Morgan said, explaining the onslaught. “It’s disrespectful to the Thai team. And I believe they wanted us to play them straight up.”

The result almost made up for the fact Reign fans now have to travel to Tacoma for home games.

Closer to home, Cafe Presse is another regular 12th Ave stop for football fans. The cafe is offering up food and drink specials for every USA and Team France match of the World Cup.
