A small group of right-wing protesters was met with a larger police presence and counter-protest in a permitted rally and march from Cal Anderson early Sunday evening.
A small handful of protesters gathered behind police-constructed barriers in the park Sunday afternoon in a “liberty” event promoted in recent weeks on social media. Police and counter-protesters outnumbered participants, according to reports from the scene.
The small group marched on Broadway and down Pike/Pine before dispersing. There were no reported arrests and no reported significant injuries during the event.
threepers don’t seem to be getting smarter or more persuasive. Wearing a proud boy uniform while shouting ‘nazis go home’ in Cal Anderson is some serious cognitive dis. They didn’t get a moment unopposed pic.twitter.com/UP6NDE9y44
