I drank this on Capitol Hill: When Autumn Leaves at Witness

The sounds of golden oldies brought CHS into Witness on a brisk October afternoon. The bartender, Rachel, made an “When Autumn Leaves.”

A “very fall inspired cocktail” made from lemon juice, spiced pear liqueur, sherry, ginger liqueur, sweet vermouth and Noble Oak’s double rye and topped with little apple cider/brown sugar syrup made in house. After a torched cinnamon stick is added, we did, indeed, have fall in a glass.

When Rachel isn’t concocting fun cocktails, she’s making illustrations that can be found at her website, love-rsml.com.

I drank this on Capitol Hill is a semiregular photographic tour of some of Capitol HIll’s best cocktails and libations. Have a suggestion for something we should drink? Let us know in comments.
