Community Lunch spring fund raiser with Vios food & Poco wine next weekend

On May 8th, from 6:00-9:00 p.m., the Community Lunch will hold a spring fundraiser at All Pilgrims Christian Church (Broadway & Republican).

Community Lunch on Capitol Hill is a non-profit organization that has been providing hot, nutritious meals to Seattle residents who are homeless, hungry, and otherwise in need for over 25 years. They currently serve lunch to an average of 245 guests each Tuesday and Friday at Central Lutheran Church.

David Copley, one of the Community Lunch board members, says, “It will be a great event, with live bluegrass music, food from Vios Cafe, wine tastings from Poco Wine Room and Queso y Vino, a festive silent auction, and no boring speeches.”

The food truly does sound delicious, with such main course menu items as kalamata tapenade, hummus, krostini, chicken skewers, pork tenderloin, Greek salad, pita and roasted potato salad with kale and pecans, and baklava for dessert!

So come on down and join in to support this great cause (and the local businesses represented) with good food, good wine, good music, and a silent auction! If you can’t attend the event, there is also an online auction where you can bid on items or donate your own items for sale.

The Community Lunch’s auction website has more information. Tickets are available for $35 at the door and organizers request that you RSVP either by calling 206-322-7500 or by sending in the form on the auction website.
