Ekphrastic Art Auction @ Historic Washington Hall

BFI Benefit art auction on September 13 at Washington Hall from 6-8 PM, where the art is either inspired by stories or poems written by our kids or the art inspired kids to write a story or comments about the piece. The event is casual with cocktails and appetizers, with live illustration being done by a local artist, and some kids and artists will be interviewed on stage talking about their art work and the accompanying story/poem. All proceeds of the event will support our new Yesler Terrace location opening up this fall!

BFI – The Greater Seattle Bureau of Fearless Ideas which is a local Seattle 501(c)(3) nonprofit started in 2004 (formerly known as 826 Seattle) that believes that the power of words, well-written and well-spoken, can open doors to important opportunities for young people. BFI provides free tutoring, writing, and publishing programs to prepare young people (ages 6-18) for a successful future by developing strong writing skills, championing diverse communication styles, and motivating young people to share their stories.
