Lit Crawl Seattle is back! Our third annual romp through Capitol and First Hills happens Thursday, October 23rd from 6pm until the squirrels go home. This year’s lineup features more than 65 authors in 22 readings, all presenting their work free to the public, with many venues under-21 friendly. Readers take on the timely, local issues of our community with aplomb: legal pot, social justice, dysfunctional families, and the 9-5 grind. Plus, as much local lit as your tanks can hold! Readers and presenters include Washington State Poet Laureate Elizabeth Austen, Washington State Book Award winner Peter Mountford, Jess Walter, Bruce Barcott, Jonathan Evison, Seattle City Council member Kshama Sawant, Hedgebrook, Seattle7, Book-It Repertory Theatre, and many more.
Get some sleep on Wednesday because after binging on all that good local lit, there’s a big ass after-party at Hugo House where you can hobnob like a champ. $5 gets you a pint of Georgetown Brewing Company’s brewskies, music by The Drop Shadows, Poem Shop by Matthew Rowe, all the you-pay drinks you want, access to food truck nosh by Jemil’s Big Easy, and select books for sale by Elliott Bay Book Company.
