Making A Memorial @ Capitol Hill Station

In 2020, the plaza over the Capitol Hill Light Rail Station and north edge of Cal Anderson Park will become home to The AMP: AIDS Memorial Pathway. Destined to become one of the most significant public art installations in the region, the AMP will use public art to create a physical place for remembrance and reflection; utilize technology to share stories about the epidemic and the diverse community responses to the crisis; and provide a call to action to end HIV/AIDS, stigma, and discrimination.

Join The AMP’s Project Manager Jason Plourde for a guided preview of this innovative and important public art project. We’ll discover how The AMP came to be, walk the proposed pathway, learn more about the Master Art Plan, and visit all six areas designated for public art, bringing clarity to the vision and process behind for this beautiful and profound undertaking.
