“nosotrus: Mexican-American reflections on identity” presents a series of six, one-month solo exhibitions, including wide spectrum of viewpoints. The participating artists comprise a diverse group of young voices that address topics like history, current affairs, future, aesthetic heritage, and other medular notions of Identity crucial to the Mexican-American experience. It invites objectivity through the sum of individual subjectivities. It’s first exhibition will be inaugurate the Mexican Cultural Institute Gallery.
The first feature artist is recent UW graduate and sculptor Adrián Gómez whose work explores historical and social issues relating to Latinxs in the US. His remarkable sculptural technique allows for investigation in figurative forms framed in often poignant social subjects.
