Join us for the launch of a new City of Seattle initiative to recruit and train black male mentors to support, tutor and act as role models for Seattle black youth and boys. “Our Best: Black Male Achievement Mentoring Campaign” is Seattle’s first-ever initiative to support quality culturally anchored mentoring to improve opportunities for black youth.
Mentors can play a powerful role in helping young people make responsible decisions, stay in school and reduce or avoid risky behavior. The Our Best campaign is a call to action, spotlighting the urgent need for our community to come together and mentor our youth.
Keynote speaker is Susan L. Taylor, founder of National CARES Mentoring Movement and editor emerita of Essence Magazine.
