Capitol Hill baristas worth 37.5% more than bartenders

Busy days have us “experiencing” the neighborhood in mostly virtual ways lately. But look at the things you can learn on Craigslist Seattle.

What’s a barista on Capitol Hill worth? Eleven bucks per hour. Meanwhile, a Capitol Hill bartender only gets eight bucks, apparently. Make sure your kids know this when they choose their career paths.

The earning gap probably makes sense when it comes to the skillset required to produce the typical product in either vocation. But when it comes to dealing with customers, we’re guessing bartenders aren’t getting their due as drunk people are equally obnoxious as sleepy people, sometimes more so.

The bartender still makes more given the tips. A bartender makes about a dollar a pour, while a barista is lucky to get the spare change.
