Neighborhood ‘Net news — what are you up to PI?

The real reason we keep a neighborhood blog? I’m a Web analytics addict. Whatever gets clicked on, linked from, referred to the site, I see. I found two interesting inbound links that made me go hmmm. Check em out.

  • Don’t click here. It’s some kind of internal Seattle PI site that mortals can’t access but it’s sent a few visitors to CHS lately. It looks like the paper is up to some kind of overhaul of its neighborhood sites. We’re watching you PI!
  • Go ahead and click here. Somebody with Web skillz has built some kind of local super news site for the Central District with a blog and other mysterious elements like “Your Page” and “Your Neighborhood” which smack of ambitions beyond the CD. We watch you too, CDN!

Glad you found us!

But we’re really not that mysterious. We created centraldistrictnews.com as a local online news community, where anyone can join and post their own news stories. They can also set up a profile (Your Page), and pick the neighborhood they live in to keep track of what happens around them. (but in our case, most neighborhoods area pretty small areas like “Squire Park” or “Jackson Place”)
