Fun to meet so many of you tonight at the book & beer swap — and thanks a bunch for all the nice things you had to say about CHS. For those of you who couldn’t make it, here’s what the people on the Internet look like.
For those of you who were there, THANKS FOR BEING SO NICE!
We’ll do this again soon — maybe keep the book theme, maybe branch out to something like bad paintings acquired at garage sales.
We had a table full of neighbors. Smith was a good host (we finally met Linda!). Some great books were swapped and some not so great ones, too. Does it say a good thing or bad thing about a book when two copies show up at a book swap? Happened with two different titles. Perhaps we lack in diversity. Oh, btw, this is the time for your substantive comment, beneficiary of the leftover books. Hit it.

Wow, is that what I look like? I’m so dim and muddled! :-D
Nice to meet you all, I’ll try to post later after I’ve read a bit of my two new books (Under the Banner of Heaven and Among the Thugs).
Turns out a do have a blog, I just haven’t updated it for a long time: http://unclevinny.wordpress.com Maybe meeting real bloggers will inspire me to post more often.
Yes, Vince, we’re glad you got to meet the force behind hillku. Rub it in why don’t you!
I grabbed those doubles, I heard one was alright, so I guess I’ll find out after I read them :)
It was nice meeting you all, I had a great time. Now I’m off to do grunt work…
Oh behalf of hillku, it was fantastic to meet the CHS mothership, her dear readers, and little Bowie!
Does this mean we get a bye in the next round? I didn’t see any squirrels there…
Last night was fun, thanks for organizing J. Bowie is a great little baby!
It was a pleasure to meet J, K, B, and the rest of the Internet. Sorry I had to dash out so early (along with my new used copy of A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, which I’ll have to start soon). And sorry I missed meeting the force behind hillku. Maybe next time?
A delightful monday evening! Baby Bowie fell asleep while I was holding him, the little darling.
So I met Eric at Smith on Monday and then ran into him tonight (Tuesday) at the Elysian. The internets meet in the real world again.
Hillku’s Final Answer was there? Drat. I didn’t get that connection. We might have even chatted. Did we, Hillku dear?
Thanks for a fun neighborhood gtg, J and K.
Both Final Answer and City Limits were there representing hillku!
Jeanine, we talked about books (but that probably doesn’t help). We were at the end of the table. I asked if you had ever read Time Traveler’s Wife…and you told me you brought it.
Aha! Secretive poets, you two.
M-kay! Here’s a (crazy long) book report: http://unclevinny.wordpress.com/2007/12/25/book-swap-report-under-the-banner-of-heaven/
