Don’t let your art walking be limited to only Pike/Pine tonight — it’s 2Tue, don’t forget. Sound Transit’s effort to keep the Broadway light rail construction zone active during the waiting period until demolition includes a lot of art installations in the abandoned buildings. ST turned down efforts to try to use the spaces for community meetings or events but they’ve done good work making the space available to showcase these installations. Some of them are kind of wacky but a few are cool — including the video installations. And, yes, even the infamous Jack in the Box installations are restored (and, one can presume, under tighter watch). Also have to like some of the crowd-sourced chalk commentary written on the surrounding sidewalks.
my favorite is already the simple and direct chalk art commenting on each business along broadway.
