CHS’s 3 neighboring neighborhood blogs

We’ve talked on CHS in the past about nearby areas that this site could expand its coverage to include. To our north, there’s the wedge of Eastlake that runs across I-5 from St. Mark’s and Montlake below Interlaken. To the south, we have the ongoing debate about Radio Point or 12th Ave. We’re happy to announce that at least one area can be cleared up — our neighbors in Eastlake now have EastlakeAve as their friendly neighborhood information source.

EastlakeAve joins CentralDistrictNews and TheSouthLake to create a zone of neighborhood coverage around most of Capitol Hill.

There will be some overlap and there are a few areas like Montlake and Madison Park where it would be great to have another site active, but the core is there to build on.

Like CHS, the SLU site and CDNews, the Eastlake site is an independently owned and operated local news and information business and part of the growing family of Neighborlogs sites. Neighborlogs provides tools and services to run neighborhood blogs like these. It’s part of a 3-person start-up founded by Scott from CDNews. I’m lucky enough to be part of that 3-person team along with Scott’s brother Matt who also contributes to the CD site. We, by the way, also have sites active in other parts of the city like RavennaNation.

So, with my Neighborlogs hat on, I hope you’ll check out the sites using our technology and services. It’s good news for my CHS hat, too — it’s great having more coverage and help staying on top of all the stories in our part of the city.
