Meet Destiny, your Broadway psychic

When I first asked Destiny if it would be alright for me to take a picture of her new work space next to the Broadway Grill, she wasn’t too sure. But after shaking my hand, she decided it would be OK. She’s a psychic — must have picked up my good CHS vibes.

“Put me on the Internet,” she said. “And tell those girls to come back here.” The attention of a nosy reporter had scared off a small group of teen girls who had been considering stepping in for a $10 visit with Destiny. And, yes, I told her I run a Web site so she wasn’t reading my palm’s broadband line or anything.

Destiny moved her business this week from its old location above Laughing Buddha and is offering readings and other services psychic in the sidewalk-front space immediately adjacent to the restaurant. Destiny says she’s working on a special with the Broadway Grill folks. She’s also very excited about her business prospects this weekend during Pride.

Only feet away from the crowded Broadway sidewalk, Destiny said, “I’ll be able to see a lot of people here.”

You’re promoting someone who wants to scam minors? Maybe it’s not an intentional scam if Destiny sincerely believes in her “abilities,” but do parents want their kids paying even harmless delusional personalities for such hoakum? I hope you didn’t corral those girls for her…

You can pretty much always get your money’s worth from mystics. Especially if you play along. Getting a live reading is entertainment if nothing else. Doesn’t matter what you believe, sitting there while somebody examines your palm for secrets can be a weird and wonderful experience. Especially when you have somebody who really believes.
