I’m not a big cupcake person but figured there would be some royale fans who would want to know
Anyone have the heads up on freshly baked cupcakes from a toaster oven? From a cake mix with an extra egg and a bit of extra flavoring, moist, cheap in cost, who wants a 4.00 cup cake that is dry and has no flavor?
Hints, please.
dude, the place hasn’t even opened yet (yes, I know they have other locations). Give ’em a chance, Mr. Positive.
Sure … why not? Of course they will use special formula, better chocolate and more expensive ingredients for the C. Hill store … you believe that Linder?
The reason we all know the product is from the “mini chain” that so far has produced dry and poorly flavored products …
But sure … you give them your money to see if they are fit to eat.
Called my grandmother last night, she is sending me all the stuff she has on cupcakes and is really up on a little store … and has tons of family money … so who knows, Curly Mike’s Country Cakes might be next!!!
A bog is a conversation, some opinions differ, the spice of life, esp. in a free and civilized culture. Enjoy whatever you wish in life … and I will do the same. And our opinions might differ, and that is really really OK.
Nothing personal, really nothing personal, at least not for me. In fact I envy a handle that starts with zeeb…
Z words are a fetish of mine, from a lover named Zorne back when … and X words that sound like Z … and family scrabble marathons.
Happy Fourth to all … and last night I took my own challenge and baked great cupcakes in the grungy old Goodwill toaster oven (2.00) at a friends office. Worked great, more sharing later. Moist, tasty (almond flavored chocolate) cupcakes anyone can make for almost nothing … depression cost fare for the C. Hill masses. Why pay retail?
– Hot dogs in the park
– East Precinct Picnic
– Cupcakes
– His curls – probably not on the blog but I’m sure it has happened at some point
and so on and so on and so on…
Most of my conversations don’t involve constant complaining about what other people are doing.
They’ve totally revamped their recipe in the past couple of months. Here’s Rebekah Denn’s write-up. New, and more moist. http://www.eatallaboutit.com/2009/05/18/new-cake-in-the-cupc
Please give this business a chance. Any one opening up right now should have our support. If you dont like the cupcakes then just dont buy them. Dont trash the store before it even opens.
“I am so happy to hear this! I had been to the Ballard shop twice in the past and left really disappointed because the cupcakes were dry’…
“This is so good to hear. Cupcake Royale’s cakes always sounded so good (chocolate with lavender – yum!) but the taste never lived up to my expectations”…
Both or these comments are from the link about better cakes, the baking company has recently made changes in making them, bringing in a well know Seattle desert chef as consultant, spending money to correct problems with flavor and moistness. Now, apparently, they are better … which bodes well for all you avid fans.
4th event at Cal Anderson park was really nice. Good music, lots of sweet kids and mommies and daddies, and things to do. OK crowd, pretty hot and people leave town on the long weekend. And the hot dog lady made it!! Selling her Fred Meyer style franks for 4.00 … this lady is making money … but if you are hungry and don’t know about the taco shop on Pine, at least it is food.
Now, what to do on Sunday? Brunch at Costal is always great … where else? Any suggestions? I HOP on Madison can be fine, esp. with kids, great value, nifty mix of people.
Cheers, enjoy the sun.
