Electrical vault fire in Pike/Pine building – UPDATE

UPDATE 9:08 AM:
According to the fire department, responding units found the callout was a false alarm triggered by automated sensors in the vault. City Light tells us their electrical equipment is working properly and there might have been a problem with the “customer’s switching gear” at the location. There were no reported electricity outages in the area.

Original report:
No word on service interruption in the area yet, but a fire in the electrical vault at the Richmark Label building at 11th and Pine this morning prompted a 30-minute response from the Seattle Fire Department. We’re checking with SFD and City Light for more details.
