Accused East Precinct cop slayer pleads not guilty

The man accused of the Halloween murder of East Precinct officer Timothy Brenton appeared in court this morning to be arraigned on one count of aggravated murder, three counts of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree arson. Christopher Monfort is accused of opening fire on Brenton and rookie officer Britt Sweeney on Halloween in an attack that left Brenton dead and Sweeney wounded and a firebomb attack on police cars parked in a city maintenance yard on October 22nd.

Before Superior Court Judge Palmer Robinson, Monfort pleaded not guilty to the five charges. His next court appearance will be in January to continue the pre-trial legal process. In another paper today, I read that Monfort had his n*** blow off when he was shot and paralized. That can’t be true.

The fact is, if he had some to begin with, he would have been the officer in the car instead of the little boy throwing a temper tantrum at an authority figure
