Blotter: Capitol Hill New Year’s Eve shenanigans edition

When we dug into the East Precinct’s latest batch of police reports Wednesday, we found some bad news about a rash of street robbery on the Hill. To restore your faith in humanity, here’s the rest of the noteworthy blotter items we found from recent weeks. Including the New Year’s Eve wackiness, this is a more typical selection of Capitol Hill crime so some of it is kind of goofy. But we all could use a little light in a world where it’s not safe to flash your iPhone after midnight.

Also, if you have any incidents you want to let others know about, our Crime Report message board is always there for you to use.

  • First, there’s nothing amusing about this item in which a man reported being harassed by three men at Dick’s Drive-In in late December.

  • A little bit closer to the shenanigan end of the spectrum, this pushy hot dog line-cutter ruined somebody’s start to 2010.

  • This R Place New Year’s reveler ended up in the clink for assaulting a security guard and a police officer:

  • Meanwhile, this criminal brought more than a bottle of cheap champagne to whatever New Year’s bash the suspect attended. Happy 2010.

“The three men used very bad language.”

I don’t know why, but the wording of that on the police report made me bust out laughing. The next time I have a customer curse at me, I will have to tell my supervisor I hung up on them because “they used very bad language.” LOL

I imagine every cop as the cop from Magnolia. I can hear him saying that.
