Been following this Blog for quite a while and I just got a bee in my bonet about this intersection. Does anyone know why the street is extra wide at this point? Did is service a specific building or business back in the day?
I figured if anyone would know off the top of their head it’d be someone on this blog.

My guess is it was once a trolley or streetcar turn around.
There used to be an Ivar’s on that corner (where Chase is now). Maybe something to do with extra traffic/deliveries.
