Here are some more details on an unusual theft attempt we first reported back when it happened in the last week of March. SeattleCrime offers the prime cut:
A man was arrested for attempting to steal $1,000 in boneless beef tenderloin and attacking a security officer with a screwdriver at the Capitol Hill QFC on 15th and Harrison, according to the police report. The security guard was shaken-up, but was not hurt.
Police were called to the scene around 9:15 p.m March 23 when a caller reported that a man was loading boxes of beef into his blue Saturn station wagon.
Seattle Times raises the, um, stakes, reporting the attempted theft total as close to $5,600. We’ll follow up on this to find out some more about the man SeattleCrime called the Hamburglar.
Some security guards standby idly and watch as a girl gets beaten.
Other security guards chase a dude and jump him over steak.
Priorities, etc.
In our modern American capitalist society … property is always more important than people … sad.
