The parade may be downtown but much of the fun of 2010 Pride is happening on Hill. Here’s a look at some of the Capitol Hill highlights — and a few non-Pride bonus items to, you know, mix it up a little.
Friday
- WildRose Pride 2010: 3-day block party. Facebook details.
- Prom Dress Rugby at Bobby Morris. First annual game kicks off at 7:30 PM and benefit Lambert House and Seattle Quake Rugby.
- Bend-It Extravaganza: Queer Garden — Bands in the Park. Details at Seattle DIY.
- Julia’s Gay Block Party: Start the party on Broadway. 2 to 10 PM today. Saturday, too.
- Pride Shabbat at Temple de Hirsch Sinai, 1511 E. Pike St. Service starts at 7:30 PM following reception.
- Hot Dog Blessing at Bottleneck

Saturday
- Dignity Seattle Annual Pride Pancake Breakfast. 8 AM to noon. Central Lutheran Church, 1710 11th Ave. $5.
- Team USA makes the World Cup knockout round. Match vs. Ghana begins at 11:30 AM Seattle time. Here’s our roster of Hill locations where you can enjoy coffee or a drink, grab some brunch and watch the match with your hill pals. Good luck finding a seat!
- Interfaith Pride Worship Service at Broadway’s All Pilgrims Church. 2 PM.
- Pride Festival: 2nd annual event is bigger, longer running 10 AM to 10 PM and closing down five blocks of Broadway. Have fun!
- Dyke March: Stages at Seattle Central from 5 to 7 PM before march down Broadway. What happens when they get to the Pride Fest? Who knows! More fun! http://www.seattledykemarch.com/
- Bend-It’s Big Gay Field Day starting at noon in Cal Anderson. Rubber ducky races, giant twister, more feats of athleticism.
- Rainbow Health Fair, 10 AM to 3 PM at Gilda’s Club, 1400 Broadway.
- The Complete Streetcar Campaign and SDOT host an open house to discuss the latest plans for the streetscape and bike safety for the streetcar. 11 AM at Harvard Ave’s First Baptist Church.
- Seattle Bicycle Music Fest Fundraiser. Starts at 6 PM at Olive Way’s Cafe Metropolitain.
- Volunteer Park wading pool opens for season: 11 AM to 8 PM, daily through September 6.
Sunday

- Momo Pride Street Party: The official PrideFest afterparty takes over the street in front of Neumo’s. $7.
