Roanoke Tavern in “wait and see” mode

When we last reported on Roanoke Park Place Tavern, we noted that Roanoke’s bid to buy the building at 2409 10th Avenue East had fallen short.  We checked in with Chris Price, who co-owns Roanoke with her husband Jeff, and asked for an update on their status:

The buyers[who outbid the Roanoke] withdrew their offer, is all we know.  We should know more in a couple of weeks, but we are hopeful we will be there at least through August. In the meantime we are in wait-and-see mode.

The Roanoke has been a fixture on North Capitol Hill since 1980.  As a measure of community support, the “Save The Roanoke Park Place Tavern” Facebook Group has 1707 members.

With news that Huiyona is going out of business, and Tidbit Bistro’s move to Broadway complete, Roanoke’s fate takes on even greater significance.
