Official 2010 Capitol Hill Night Out Block Party Roster — 12 and counting

Tuesday evening is Seattle’s Night Out block party night with the city encouraging residents to close off the streets and throw neighborhood bashes. We’ll use this post to collect a list of community parties on Capitol Hill. If you’d like yours listed, drop us a line at [email protected] or leave a note in the comments. If your neighborhood is having a party on a different night this month, make sure to note the date. And if you are on the fence about whether you should add your neighborhood’s fun to the list, just think about how you’d feel if you lived on your street and you found out about a sidewalk picnic that you weren’t invited to! It’s your civic duty!

Official registration closes Monday at 9 AM but we’re guessing you can probably get in touch with somebody from city to let you slide in after the deadline if you decide you want to pull something together for Tuesday night and want the street closure fee waived. Here’s a fancy sign you can print to keep those pesky autos at bay.

Here are 2010 Night Out Capitol Hill parties we know about:

  • Olive at Howell:

THE REAL BLOCK PARTY IS A (free) BBQ.

kind of interesting to see a big hole in the map in the part of the neighborhood that just hosted a music festival called “capitol hill block party” last weekend.

I see references to 11th between Thomas & Republican but the one block just goes from Thomas to Harrison. This Night Out party has been a tradition for many years in the 300 block of 11th Ave E. While there are a lot of people I am not sure we will extend all the way up to Republican. All neighbors, whether in that immediate block or not, are invited. Please bring food to share, chairs, tables, something for the grill, drinks. See you there. From 6-9 pm.

Word on the street is that Black Science is some sort of rock band.
Research remains inconclusive, and controversial…

I think you missed Broadway between Lynn & Miller (2300 block). Best block in the city.
