Neighbor report: Motorcycle stolen on Sumit Ave — Plus, auto theft map

Neighbor Marc had his motorcycle stolen early Thursday morning and wrote CHS a note to let us know. Maybe you’ve seen it ditched somewhere on the Hill. Below, we’ve also included a map of reported vehicle thefts on Capitol Hill in the last 30 days. There’s one other motorcycle on the map — that one got boosted over in Eastlake on Galer. And, Marc, you’d be surprised at what we can fit into this blog. Here’s Marc’s mail and details of his stolen bike:

I have a motorcycle I spent a year piecing together that got stolen in the early morning of Sept 23 from the 300 block of Summit Ave E.

It’s probably in the process of being parted out at this point and I filed a report with the cops but maybe it’s still in the neighborhood somewhere.

If it would fit into the blog would you post this?

Thanks a lot and love the blog!

You can view the latest 30-days of Hill auto thievery here via SeattleCrime. While the Hill suffers nearly one reported car prowl per day, we “only” report a stolen car, truck — or motorcycle — every other day.

I had my scooter stolen from Bellevue and Thomas last month. It was recovered in the City Market parking lot, behind an old wooden trailer. I’m just giving you more places to check. Good luck!

That is a bummer… I’ll keep my eyes peeled. That was a sweet bike. Those bastards!

I am sorry to hear of the stolen bike. But if that is the bike that the rider lets idle for a few minutes outside my window every morning I will certainly appreciate the silence over the next few days.

If you no longer hear it then that would be the one

I must live right around the corner from you. Always saw your bike out there on Summit. Loved what you did with it (clubmans, kerker, chrome fenders). You might hit up th guys at Twin Line Motorcycles or maybe the guys who run the Backfire Moto night in Ballard. They’re all about the vintage bikes and might be helpful in keeping an eye out for it. I’ll keep my eyes peeled as well.
