Coping with Anxiety Support Group

*Do you have difficulty shutting your mind off from feeling worried or afraid?

*Do you have trouble sleeping throughout the night or find yourself up for periods of time worrying about things?

*Are you coming up with excuses to avoid doing things you usually enjoy (being social, going to work or school, spending time with family)?

Anxiety can be an overwhelming emotional and/or physical reaction to something happening to you or around you. We can feel anxious about things that have, can, or will happen in the past, present, or future. Each of us feels afraid or worried from time to time, but sometimes anxiety can become overwhelming, can interfere with every day life, and can even lead to frightening anxiety or panic attacks. In this support group you will have a chance to get compassionate support from others dealing with similar concerns as well as learn coping strategies such as breathing exercises and creative imagery for dealing with your anxiety.

The fee for each group session will be $45. Sliding fee scale available. There are a limited number of spaces open for this group. The start date for this group is yet to be determined, but will most likely begin in February or March. Contact Allison Fine, MSW at 206-226-1097, [email protected], or visit her website http://www.BalanceMaintains.com to sign up or learn more about this group.

Allison Fine, MSW, social worker and Certified Counselor for Washington State, provides individual, couples, and group counseling in the greater Seattle area. She has worked with many individuals coping with anxiety and panic and a variety of other emotional health concerns.
